Tuff Torq at the Overcomer Obstacle Challenge Event

Tuff Torq Corporation was proud to, once again, be a major sponsor for the 2017 Overcomer Obstacle Challenge in Morristown, TN.  This charity event is an important way for Tuff Torq to support and give back to our community in a real way.

Tuff Torq was a major corporate sponsor for this event.  The company provided monetary support as well as gifts and volunteer staff to help coordinate the event.  Our volunteer staff were responsible for; staffing obstacles to provide instruction and help for participants, helping with registration and organization of participant groups, providing a booth with healthy snacks that were distributed to participants and providing advertising support for the event.

Tuff Torq also had many employees that participated in the event.  Below is a short highlight video of the Tuff Torq team as they maneuvered the event.

About the Overcomer Obstacle Challenge

This event is an endurance race designed to test the body, mind and spirit of participants regardless of fitness and experience level.  Overcomers will run, climb, jump, crawl, and muscle their way through to conquer the obstacles along the way. This event is to remind participants of the journey that survivors of domestic and sexual violence take to recover and reclaim their lives.  The life of a survivor of violence is full of obstacles and offers supportive services to help them over-come throughout East Tennessee and beyond.

Race Details:
  • Ages 12 and up
  • $55 (price on race day will be $65)
  • Volunteering will lower the price to $15
  • 3+ Miles
  • 21+ Obstacles
  • Each participant will receive a medal and a t-shirt.
  • First wave starts at 9am and a new wave will begin every 15 minutes.
  • First wave is the Elite Wave for those wishing to be timed and be in the running for an award. ​

  • Overall Fastest Time
  • Endurance Challenge (Fastest Four Laps)
  • Biggest Team​
Endurance Challenge:
  • $20 extra
  • Complete as many laps as you can after the initial lap.
  • Receive a pin to go on your medal for each lap completed.
  • First to finish 4 extra laps receives an award.

CEASE Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault, Inc. is a nonprofit organization serving
Claiborne, Grainger, Hamblen, Hancock, Hawkins, and Union Counties in East Tennessee.
Our program has two emergency shelters in Hamblen and Claiborne Counties with a combined total of 26 beds.

CEASE was founded in 1980 in response for the need for safe shelter for women and children who were displaced from their homes because of domestic violence. In 1999, it became a dual issue program, also responding to the need for crisis services and advocacy for victims of sexual assault.
